Biography
David is a Chartered Accountant who after qualifying worked for Deloitte in both London and Zurich. He then joined The Financial Times where in a career of over twenty years his position as Company Secretary and Director of Accounting Services took him to many countries around the world. In addition to being responsible for financial systems he was involved in many aspects of the FT’s commercial activities including such diverse areas as union negotiations and legal actions in India. In 1995 he moved to a new role within the Pearson Group first setting up, then becoming Managing Director of their UK Shared Services Division, a position he held until his retirement in 2003. David had been active in pensions at various times throughout his time at FT and Pearson and since 2002 he has been a Trustee Director of The Pearson Group Pension Plan. In addition he is Chairman of the Pearson Plan’s Money Purchase Committee.
