Adding Value through Credit & High Yield Investing for Pension Funds
September 3, 2020
Purpose

This interactive virtual meeting will examine a range of strategies and opportunities that can enable pension funds to add value and achieve specific goals. We will also consider a number of practical issues such as implementation, interest rates, ESG requirements, political and geopolitical impacts, fees, liquidity and transparency.

Remaining selective and diversified in an uncertain world
-
Since March, the support measures provided by central banks and governments has created a significant tailwind for credit markets.
-
Credit spreads still remain wide of historic averages and offer the potential for compelling returns in a low yielding world
-
However, with a marked increase in credit defaults looming, how companies and sectors will fare in coming months is likely to be a complex and varied picture.
-
The scale of the moves in markets has meant that the relative-value equation between different markets is continually changing, providing great opportunities for flexible investors with a broad opportunity set.
-
Capturing the opportunity is going to be about identifying the winners and losers, with selectivity, dynamism and flexibility required
