Ben O’Donnell
Head of Agriculture Investments

Sandra Carlisle is Head of Responsible Investment Specialists in London and has been working in the financial industry since 1986. Prior to joining HSBC in 2017, Sandra worked as Head of Responsible Investment for Newton Investment Management. Prior to this, Sandra worked at F&C Investments and Citi, where she set up and ran the sustainable and responsible investment team in global markets and the European equity sales team respectively. Sandra has an M.A from the University of Oxford. Sandra is a recognised industry spokesperson, a former board member of the Principles for Responsible Investment and a visiting business fellow at the Oxford Smith School for the Environment.
Ben is a chartered accountant with more than 20 years’ experience in agricultural funds management and investment banking in Sydney and London. Prior to joining HSBC Pollination Climate Asset Management, Ben spent 19 years at Macquarie Group, the last 6 years working in the agriculture funds management platform, which manages approximately A$2.7b of assets across Australia and Brazil. In that role Ben lead M&A, capital structuring and strategy, while also serving on the board of Lawson Grains, which operates 90,000 HA of arable land across Australia. Previously Ben lead agriculture coverage for Macquarie Capital in ANZ, advising on more than A$4billion of agriculture related transactions.
