John O’Connell is an actuary who has advised pension scheme employers, trustees and members for over 25 years. He founded Trident Consulting in 2006 and Trident Pension Trustees Ltd in 2010. John started his career in Irish Life working in their actuarial, retail, corporate business and investment areas and qualifying as an actuary in 1991. He then worked overseas for three years with Life of Jamaica before joining Mercer in 1996. His qualifications include MBA, QFA, PTP and the IOD Diploma in Company Direction. He has advised with regard to a number of high profile pension litigation cases.
