Nigel is Chair of Trustees of the National Grid UK Pension Scheme. It has 90,000 members, most of them pensioner or deferred members, and assets of nearly $20b. His career has been in both the corporate and public sector, including CFO of Reed Elsevier (93-96): Co Chair of Reed Elsevier (96-99): Chairman of UNIQ (01-06): Non Executive Director of the London Stock Exchange (02-10) and Chairman of the Postal Services Commission (04-10). From 2008-2017 he also served a Chair of the Mineworkers Pension Scheme. He graduated in Economics & Politics at Cambridge University, is an Honorary Fellow of Fitzwilliam College and undertakes pro bono roles in primary and secondary education.
