Phil is an Independent Trustee with Zedra Governance Limited, acting as Chair of Trustees, Sole Trustee or Trustee Board member for 9 pension schemes and 7 funeral trusts. He specialises in managing risk in funding and investment strategies for DB schemes, focussing on a collaborative approach to agreeing objectives with the sponsor and a hands-on approach to implementing the strategy to meet them.

Prior to becoming a Trustee, Phil worked in the actuarial team of a major consultancy for over 20 years, advising Trustees on all aspects of running their schemes. This included insurer transactions, member option exercises, and mergers and de-mergers.

Outside of work, Phil loves most sports (including managing his son’s rugby team) and still clings on to playing a few of them, and also enjoys reading and travelling.
