Timo is the CEO of the State Pension Fund in Finland (VER). VER is a government buffer fund which manages pension assets related to government pension liabilities of state employees. VER has 23 billion euros under management. During 2015-2019 he was the Vice Chair for the Single Resolution Board (SRB, EU Agency) in Brussels. The Board has currently over 70 billion euros under management in its Fund. Before joining the SRB he was the CEO of the State Pension Fund between 2003-2015 and returned back in March 2020. Earlier he had worked in various roles in banks and investment banking. He has served in number of boards in companies and foundations, and also in number of investment committees. He has recently been lecturing on the financial stability topic. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics.
