Magnus Vesterlund is Chief Economist at Svensk Försäkring (Insurance Sweden), which is the industry organisation for insurance companies and occupational pensions companies. He is also member of the board of Sjunde AP-fonden (AP7) and some other financial institutions.

Before the present position, he worked at Folksam Life insurance group as CRO and at the central bank of Sweden, Sveriges riksbank, mostly heading different divisions among them front office and risk control. He has also worked as an expert on financial markets in Brussels at the European Commission.
