Richard Nunn

Richard Nunn is the current Chair of The United Reformed Church Ministers’ Pension Trust Ltd , the administrator of an active and open to new member DB scheme. He spent the first 28 yrs of his working life with Standard Life during which time he qualified as an actuary specialising in advising trustees of company pension schemes. Before leaving Standard Life Richard completed an MBA with the Open University . He then joined Aegon UK and shifted focus toward personal pensions planning and Business Development . While there ,in 1998, he joined the Board of the URC Ministers Pension Trust and its fund’s Investment Committee. Richard also became a TPAS advisor. After ‘retirement’ Richard became Convenor of the URCs new Investment Committee covering its pension and endowment assets and also represented the Pension Trust as a member of the Church Investors Group and subsequently joined its Steering Group. In 2010 he was elected to Chair the CIG. He stood down at the end of 2013. Richard remained on the steering group and then on the Board of CIG, which is now an Incorporated Charity. Richard’s interest in pensions remains undimmed as they drift well into their 6th decade. The focus in improving governance standards at trustee, manager and investee levels particularly in areas of effective use of ESG to identify sustainable investment opportunities. Sustainable Governance is key to long term investment – this includes succession planning. Richard is a Director of St Albans Mencap a local provider of services to the Learning Disabled.
