Richard is a Partner in our Risk Transfer team and has over 18 years’ experience advising pension scheme trustees and sponsors on end-game strategies, journey planning and designing and executing risk transfer transactions. He has led some of the most innovative transactions in this space, designing the £5bn Aviva longevity swap, broking the first combined buy-in and longevity swap framework, leading the independent review of a new commercial off-shore pension de-risking vehicle, and negotiating the first longevity swap conversion to buy-in that transferred reinsurance from one bulk annuity provider to a competitor bulk annuity provider.
