Barry Mackay is a Director in the UK MId-Market Credit team within HSBC Asset Management in London and has been working in the financial industry since 2008. Barry is responsible for the Investing in senior loans issued to mid-market UK borrowers owned by Private Equity Sponsors on behalf of the HSBC Senior UK Direct Lending Fund 2020. Prior to joining HSBC Asset Management in Dec 2019, Barry worked in HSBC's middle market financial sponsors team in the UK and Asia, most recently as a director in the London office, where he was responsible for originating and lending loans to private equity owned borrowers. Prior to joining HSBC, Barry worked for Barclays’ debt finance function, supporting corporate issuers throughout the UK, and prior to that worked as an accountant with DeutscheBahn. Barry is originally from Inverness, Scotland, holds a BA (Hons) in Management with Finance from Aberdeen Business School and completed his ACCA exams in 2011
