Christian Kopf joined Union Investment in September 2017 as managing director and Head of Fixed Income. He oversees a team of close to 60 investment managers and more than € 70 billion in actively managed assets. In addition to assuming overall responsibility for all credit, rates, cash and securitised debt investment strategies, he is a member of the Union Investment Committee which sets guidelines for the firm’s strategic allocation across all asset classes.
Prior to joining Union Investment, Mr Kopf spent eleven years in the London office of Spinnaker Capital, a dedicated emerging markets asset management firm. At Spinnaker Capital, he was the partner responsible for global economic research and investment strategy, for risk allocation in currencies, rates and sovereign debt across the European and Asian time zones and for the management of the Spinnaker Emerging Markets Macro Fund.
Previously, Mr Kopf worked for seven years as a Senior Portfolio Manager at DWS Investments in Frankfurt, where he was responsible for Global Emerging Markets Fixed Income.
Mr Kopf holds a master’s degree in economics from Witten/Herdecke University in Germany and the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
