PensioPlus
Marc holds a Master's degree in Law from Ghent University, a Master's degree in Fiscal Sciences from the Fiscale Hogeschool Brussel and a degree as an Investment Advisor from Ehsal-EMS. During his career, he has built up in-depth expertise in supplementary pensions, both in Belgium and internationally, in particular in group insurance and pension funds. After ten years at Belfius Insurance as Legal Counsel and Group Insurance Manager, he moved within the group to DIPS in Luxembourg, where he was responsible for the management of pension funds and the optimisation of pension strategies as Pension Fund Manager. In 2009, he returned to Belgium as CEO of Sepia, an insurer specialising in the management of sectoral pension plans. After the merger of Sepia with Belfius Insurance in 2016, he led the management of sector plans and represented the organization at Assuralia and other relevant bodies. Since 2019, Marc has been working as a member of the executive committee at PensioPlus, where he plays a key role in representing pension funds and sectoral organisers within Belgium and Europe. He leads strategic dossiers in the areas of legislation, economic policy-making and financial impact analysis and negotiates on behalf of the members with national and European authorities for maximum influence on policy decisions. He organizes working groups to develop sector-wide solutions that are in line with current regulations and market requirements. His commitment to transparency and data-driven decision-making make him a valued voice in the social debate on second-pillar pensions.
