Will Morgan is a Managing Director at True Green Capital Management LLC (“TGC”), a specialized renewable energy infrastructure private equity firm based in Westport, Connecticut focused on the U.S., the UK, and Europe. Based in London, UK, Will is responsible for leading TGC’s European investment and growth strategy. He brings significant real asset investment management experience to the TGC team in the European renewable energy markets, having previously acted for HgCapital, 3iBIFM and WTW advised funds. Prior to TGC, Will was a Fund Manager and Head of Renewables for Alpha Real Capital (“Alpha Real”), a European real assets investment manager with over $5 billion in assets under management (“AUM”). For over nine years before joining TGC, Will held the positions of Fund Manager and Head of Renewables at Alpha Real Capital setting up and then growing their distributed renewable energy infrastructure platform to £1 billion in assets with responsibility for a combined portfolio of 420MW including 240MW of solar PV at nearly 50 locations. While at Alpha Real, Will’s strategy focused on asset-backed investment in solar PV, onshore wind, hydro and flexible generation technologies that provide contracted income combined with strong asset diversification. Will was responsible for all aspects of origination, investment, and portfolio management, growing the team to 19 full-time equivalents. Earlier in his career, Will held the position of Finance and Portfolio Director for renewable infrastructure specialist, Plenium Partners, Madrid. During his 3-year tenure he formed part of the senior team that achieved 100% AUM growth to €1.2 billion. Will had oversight for an operating portfolio of 330MW located in Spain and Italy, integrating 5 acquisitions with a combined bid value of c.€600 million. Further, Will spent time raising growth capital for a clean technology business in the water treatment sector, and also as Associate Director for sustainable energy growth investor SI Capital, Barcelona. Will started his career by qualifying as a Chartered Surveyor in the UK commercial real estate sector, and subsequently joined the management team of a high growth, listed real estate company that succeeded in growing its fund management platform to over €1 billion AUM. Will holds a full-time international MBA from ESADE Business School, Barcelona (’08), together with a Postgraduate Diploma in Urban Property Appraisal from University of West of Scotland (’01), and a joint BA Hons in Philosophy and Spanish from University of Leeds (’99).
