A systemic perspective on ESG
In light of the ESG backlash and a world in turmoil, risk mitigation and responsibility among long-term investors is more relevant than ever. This session outlines the importance of viewing ESG challenges through a systemic risk lens, emphasizing that many ESG risks are interconnected and cannot be mitigated by a single investor or company alone. It highlights the need for resilience and risk management, even for those who may not fully embrace sustainability or withdraw from ESG commitments.

Water & Waste: Diversifying Global Equity
Long-term investing in listed companies within the water and waste value chains has the potential to align well with long-term institutional investment objectives. Amid global uncertainty, political instability and fluctuating interest rates, institutional investors can tap into the structural and growing opportunity-set and trends that shape our world. There is no economy without water, there is no sustainable economy without waste management.

Sustainable investing in the current climate
The sustainability transition with new value pools projected to generate ~$11 trillion in annual revenues by 2030 (McKinsey estimate) is a large opportunity for investors. While recent challenges—ranging from economic pressures to regulatory complexity and rising skepticism—have tested the momentum of sustainable investing, the underlying trajectory remains clear: sustainability is here to stay. Corporates continue to uphold their commitments to ambitious sustainability targets, even in the face of adversity, and climate fund capital has increased. To seize the opportunity, investors have an opportunity to act boldly, employing tailored strategies across the technology maturity curve to drive both transformative impact and compelling returns in this dynamic and evolving landscape.

Mining – meeting increasing demand whilst securing a sustainable development
The mining industry is undergoing a transformation. Investors with a focus on environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues are demanding more sustainable practices. This session will explore what investors are looking for when considering investments in mining companies, and how investors collectively are working to support a socially and environmentally responsible mining sector.

What impact can be generated from sustainable bond investments
Sustainable bonds constitute over 20% of Länsförsäkringar AB (LF) AUM in its institutional life and non-life portfolios. Understanding these investments' environmental and social impact is increasingly important for different stakeholders, yet the area is challenging due to complexity of impact attribution and different reporting principles. This challenge triggered a project throughout 2024 within LF. We engaged with all issuers to ensure accurate impact reporting, correct attribution and then aggregated all collected data to a few selected impact KPIs.
