What are Corporate Hybrid Bonds and why should you care?

The Corporate Hybrid Bond market has grown from close to zero in 2012 to over 200 billion euros, equivalent, today. The issuers are mainly high quality, ‘household name’ non-financial companies and the structure is relatively investor-friendly. Furthermore, Corporate Hybrid bonds are becoming a significant part of the major Investment Grade bond indices. Yet, many investors have little understanding of these bonds’ characteristics and often mistake them for ‘Coco’s’. This session will explain what corporate hybrid bonds are and why they are attractive for fixed income investors.

Managing an equity portfolio in the context of moving ESG & Climate goals

Institutions are challenged by regulations and stakeholder pressure to make extra financial commitments. This raises a lot of issues such as defining the commitments, reporting on them, delegating them, measuring performance, reporting on performance and on the commitments.

Is passive more active than you think? Uncovering active decisions and hidden costs within indexing

  • How do the active decisions made by index providers, such as stock selection and rebalancing methodology, impact the overall performance of index funds?

  • How significant are the performance disparities among indices that presumably proxy for the same asset class or factor exposure?

  • What criteria can institutional investors employ to understand and evaluate the pros and cons of an index-based approach relative to discretionary and quantitative approaches?

  • The benefits above indexing of a systematic active approach, which combines research-lead portfolio construction and a flexible daily process, especially in lightly-tilted or low-tracking-error solutions.
