Bess Joffe, JD, is Managing Director and Global Head of Client Sustainability Strategy for MFS Investment Management® (MFS®). In this role, she works with clients and other stakeholders globally, providing guidance, expertise and insight on sustainable investment trends and best practices. She is also responsible for ensuring that sustainability is integrated across investment, client and corporate pillars at MFS. Bess joined MFS in 2023 as Lead Strategist – Client Sustainability Strategy before assuming her current role in 2024. Prior to that, she served for three years as Head of Responsible Investment at the Church Commissioners for England. Previously, she led the Corporate Governance and Stewardship Team at TIAA‐CREF (now Nuveen Asset Management), served as VP on the Investor Relations team at Goldman Sachs, and as Associate Director at Hermes EOS (now Federated Hermes). Bess earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from McGill University in Montreal and a Juris Doctor from the University of Toronto. She is a member of the Law Society of Ontario and an Investment Management Certificate holder
